The two-year Diploma in OT Technician has been structured to train professionals to assist doctors in the operation theatre. The diploma prepares students for overall management of the operation theatre as well as taking care of the ins and outs of the operation process and assisting the surgeon during the operation. The technician is also required to arrange operation theatre table, dressing table, instrument and anesthesia table and is deputed for sterilization of all surgical instruments, drapes and linen.

Objective
On successful completion of the program the student should be able to:
- To understand standard operating procedures and protocols with respect to preoperative and postoperative care.
- To acquire knowledge of the process of sterilization so as to prepare the OT before surgery.
- To demonstrate skills in maintenance of complete operation theatre.
- To acquire knowledge and understanding of vital parameters to be maintained during the operation.
- To develop skills to access, analyze and evaluate the information gathered during the treatment.
