GNM is a three-year diploma course, designed for students who want to pursue a career in clinical nursing.
This course includes a six-month training at Regency Hospitals, which are spread across Kanpur and Other Centers in U.P. comprising of almost 700 beds. The hospitals are fully equipped with advanced, world-class diagnostic and therapeutic equipments and supported by a highly qualified and dedicated staff for training.
The curriculum comprises of anatomy, physiology, nutrition, microbiology, fundamentals of nursing, first aid, health education and communication skills. Further on, the students study pharmacology, medical surgical nursing, psychiatric nursing and orthopaedic nursing. Final year comprises of lessons on advanced community health nursing, paediatric nursing, midwifery and gynaecology, introduction to research, administration and ward management.
Objective
- To help students develop an ability to cooperate and coordinate with members of the health team in the prevention of disease, promotion of health and rehabilitation of the sick.
- To prepare students who are able to keep pace with the latest professional and technological developments and use them for providing nursing care services.
- To learn to conduct dialysis procedures.
- After successfully completing the course, the candidates are able to determine the nursing needs of patients of all ages and are prepared to provide appropriate care. They are able to apply knowledge from the humanities, biological and behavioural sciences in functioning as a nurse.
