The two-year Diploma in Dialysis Technician course has been designed to prepare professionally qualified dialysis technicians who can effectively function in hospitals, paramedical teaching institutions, dialysis centres and hospitals.
The course is designed in such a way so that the students learn the skills required for renal dialysis & haemo dialysis. It also teaches students how to apply principles of safe practice in dialysis therapy and the requisite skills in the maintenance of dialysis equipment.
The course covers general anatomy, pharmacology, general pathology, physiology, microbiology and then the basics of hand hygiene, prevention of cross infection, nebulization, IV infusion, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and basic life support is taught. Further on in the following year students learn about procedures like recording of vitals, IM/IV/SC injections, diseases related to nephrology & haemodialysis & CAPD procedure etc.
Practical / Clinical training is imparted to students in Regency Hospitals, which has one of the largest dialysis machines in U.P.
